Pulte Homes has found a landing spot for a vacation home business that is outgrowing its Westside Corridor space.
Orlando Division Director Clint Ball told GrowthSpotter the homebuilder expects to close this summer on 151 acres on Sand Mine Road, on the Polk County side of the county line. He said the newest community, dubbed Windsor Ridge, would be a replacement for Pulte's Windsor at Westside.
Last December Pulte paid $3.3 million for 47 acres in the heart of Osceola's Westside corridor to expand its popular resort community.
"We added about 200 units to Windsor with our northern expansion, and believe it or not we’ve already sold a good number of those lots," Ball said. "We’re going to be running out of Short Term Rental product."
Windsor Ridge would be a stand-alone community with its own extensive amenities. The preliminary site plan sets aside 5 acres for the amenity center and 15 acres of open space.
The community would have a total of 479 detached vacation homes on 50-foot and 40-foot lots, and 138 Town Homes. It would be constructed in two phases, with the bulk of the Town Homes in Phase 1.
