Orlando Now a Major Player in Sports Travel Destinations

Seven new premier sports events and venues make for a winning vacation in 2017 and beyond. These new additions join a thrilling roster of premiere venues and events throughout the destination for fans of football, basketball, golf, baseball, tennis, hockey, soccer and running.

Sports fans, rejoice! This is your year for an Orlando visit, with an exciting line-up of new sports venues and events for fans, spectators and athletes. Plan around one of the major-league events in Orlando, and hit your trip out of the park.

This year, the destination is hosting several new and returning events to get hyped about:

January 31: NFL Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium is the league's end-of-season all-star game, where the best meets next, and top players along with new talent come together for family-friendly events. Don't forget to check out the four-day fan festival at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the week before the game.

March 16, 18: The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship returns to the Amway Center, with eight of the top teams in the nation competing on March 16, followed by the four winners returning on March 18.

April 2: Wrestlemania 33 arrives in Orlando at Camping World Stadium, but come early to catch WrestleMania Axxess, the four-day interactive fan festival at the Orange County Convention Center, March 31 - April 3.

Miss The Big Events?

No harm, no foul. Orlando will score points with sports fans throughout the year at these new venues:

Orlando City Soccer Stadium, the massive, 25,500-seat sports facility, is finally opening to host Orlando City SC's Major League games, starting March 5. Games run through October.

U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) just opened a new National Campus in the Lake Nona area of Orlando, as the largest tennis facility in the world. With 100 courts (hard and clay), a multi-use facilities and nearly 100 events in 2017, there's lots of ways to get into the game!

TopGolf Orlando will be a golf-lover's dream when it opens this year, with 100+ climate-controlled hitting bays that can host up to six players at one time, and advanced technology to track the accuracy and distance of players' shots.
